We’re looking for volunteers to help us support families.
Jigsaw Contact Centre Volunteers
Every week children use our Jigsaw Contact Centre to see their families.
We give families the best possible experience making sure children can stay in touch with parents, grandparents and siblings.
Volunteers help create the special homey atmosphere Jigsaw is known for; this involves welcoming families at receptions, supporting the team and supervising contacts.
Volunteers will need to commit to a total of 28 hours over three months. This is six x 3.5 hour shifts at weekends (with a midweek option) for 21 hours with an additional 7 hours of training.
Volunteers receive:
- Extensive training in working with families
- Shadowing opportunities with our experienced practitioners
- The chance to work directly with families during our contact sessions
- A certificate for your social CV
This 3-month volunteer experience is perfect for anyone who wants to build hands-on understanding in working with families.

Social Media Volunteers
Social media is vital in helping us tell our stories, start conversations, share information and fundraise.
As a small charity, we need help making sure our content is relevant and reaching the right people, parents, supporters and decision-makers.
Volunteers support the creation of content (illustrations, videos and photos), improve engagement and work on a small project to support our campaigns.
We are looking for a 30-hour commitment over three months (for example, 3hours a week for ten weeks)
Volunteers receive:
- Social media training (Including content creation and copywriting)
- One-to-one mentoring and coaching with our communications manager
- A certificate for your social CV
This 3-month volunteer experience would suit digital marketing and communications students interested in gaining hands-on social media skills. Professionals looking to build up their social media skills to different audiences.
