Are you passionate about helping disadvantaged families to change their lives?

This is the chance to work with a team of highly skilled family assessment professionals to do exactly that. You’ll join a team at a residential centre in south London working in partnership with families where there are child protection concerns. You’ll have keyworking responsibilities and contribute to each family’s assessment.

“The setting provides exceptional holistic support to parents and the proactive therapeutic approach works inspiringly well.” Ofsted

St Michael’s has a reputation amongst local authorities, judges and social workers for outstanding work. We have four residential centres, last year worked with families from 24 local authorities and have been delivering a world class family assessment service since 1994.

Is Family Assessment Practitioner at St Michael’s the role for you?

You will have worked with children or families, have great assessment and observation skills, be able to write clear reports and be committed to getting the best outcomes for children.

We’re looking for someone who believes no child should be disadvantaged because of the circumstances of their birth and that everyone has the capacity for change. You’ll need to be compassionate but focused, willing to go the extra mile and prepared for a challenging but most rewarding role.

“They wanted the best for us, they helped us so much.” Parent

We know this is a demanding job and you’ll be supported through regular supervision, appraisals, a first class  training and professional development programme, 33 days’ annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays) and a contributory pension. See a map of our current training programme here
