Stronger Minds for schools - Book Now

Stronger Minds is a free programme for young people in Lambeth which covers five topics to build emotional resilience, manage mental health and lift mood.

Most suitable for students in Years 6 through 12, it's only available until March 2018, so book now

The programme has been developed by a partnership of  Lambeth voluntary sector organisations and local young people who have been trained as Peer Facilitators.

Stronger Minds is built around evidence-based theories and techniques to help young people build protective factors to manage complex thoughts and feelings, focus on goals and pursue healthy relationships in real life and on line. It’s informed by local knowledge of specific issues facing many young people in Lambeth.

Participants practise activities in five areas to build insight and learn techniques that will help them get through challenging times and stay healthy.

  1. Motivation: commitment to a meaningful cause and adopting a problem solving approach
  2. Faith, Religion and Spirituality: you can reap benefits even when you don’t have a particular faith or belief system
  3. Managing Emotions: understanding feelings and what to do with them, maintaining an even temper and lifting mood
  4. Relationships: recognising how some relationships are healthier than others; curating social media presence to improve mood and employment prospects
  5. Nutrition and Exercise: identifying manageable changes and understanding that a small difference makes a big change

Sessions are delivered in your setting by trained peer facilitators and experienced youth practitioners. Stronger Minds can be configured flexibly as two-hour weekly sessions or half days.
